The Great Print Debate

What do you think about when you see animal print, specifically cheetah and zebra print? Do you think Jersey Shore or chic and sophisticated? Personally, I fall in between, I love to hate animal print but maybe I can change my mind for the fall.

A pop of cheetah print in a heel
I do like how cheetah print looks like in accessories and in small (tiny, miniscule) quantities in clothing. The trick with animal print is that it has to be neutrally colored in order for it to be classy not trashy. Once you get into the multi--colored and neon prints, we go back to the Jersey Shore.

Recently, cheetah print has been considered a neutral and I agree (as long as it is neutral color). This trend has been on and off again for a while now so maybe it is is a good idea to at least have one small piece of the trend. I went on Pinterest to see if maybe there was something on there that would change my mind and I think I found some great things.

I absolutely love this look! It is so classic but still "trendy" because of the longer skirt and the pops of animal print. The thing I love most about this is that the print isn't too obvious. For example, on the clutch, the spots can just pass off as being polka dots but because of the color scheme one can infer that it is probably an animal print. Also, did you notice that there is a small hint of cheetah print on the heel? Took me a while to see it! The animal print adds a little bit of spunk without being over-the-top.

I think the lesson that needs to be learned today is an oldie but a goodie: less is more. This applies to almost everything in life and it most definitely applies to animal print. Maybe just maybe I will need to buy some animal print for my fall wardrobe this year!
