Gray is My Favorite Color

"Buddy the Elf, what's your favorite color?"

Colors are so important. Certain colors can enhance your mood and make you feel comfortable. Growing up, I thought my favorite color was pink and I tried to make everything I owned pink. But the only reason this was my favorite color was because I always saw that girls should like pink and boys should like blue. As I grew up, I kind of grew out of color and now I kind of don’t even have a favorite color. I have an appreciation for every color now (except maybe orange, we never get along) and have several favorites that I like for specific reasons.

Gray

I love gray and all of its 50 shades. ;) But honestly, gray is a color that I always gravitate towards. Whenever I am shopping, gray clothing always attracts my eyes. I love gray clothes, shoes, purses, coats, and accessories. I also love when gray is used in interior design, like gray walls and furniture. The other day, I went back-to-school shopping at H&M and literally only got gray clothing because it is so versatile.

Burgundy / Maroon / Berry / Whatever you want to call it

This has been a favorite of mine for the past couple of years. I love wearing this color because it adds a pop of color to any outfit without being over-bearing. I love to wear burgundy in sweaters, scarves, and on my lips as a lipstick! It is mostly a fall color (I LOVE fall) but I love wearing it in all seasons. Recently, I ventured my obsession into the shoe department and got some great Dolce Vita loafers at a local Buffalo Exchange for $25!

Seafoam Green

This color I love exclusively for home decor and nail polish. I love when this color is used as an accent color where everything else is neutral. It is so fresh and and it really lightens my mood. My room is currently painted a light seafoam green and I paired it with white furniture to bring out the colors freshness. I chose this color because I thought if I ever owned a cottage, this is what I would want it to look like. I am going to show you only a glimpse of my room because the rest of it is a disaster because my mom is renovating her room and decided to put all of her stuff in my room.

So what is your favorite color?

Petite Moment: My Beauty Wishlist

There are so many beauty products that I want but that I can never justify buying all at one time. I was scrolling through my Sephora "loves" and realized that I had way too many products on there, so I thought I'd share some of them with you. And maybe just maybe someone will actually get me them for me, no pressure though, just a suggestion. ;)

Shiseido Eyelash Curler

I have the straightest eyelashes on the planet, so an eyelash curler is not an option, it's a necessity. I have one right now from Tarte that's broken, so I need a replacement. I heard that this is good for people who have long eyes, so this will be perfect (hopefully!) for me.

I love everything about this palette! I love neutral eyeshadow and this palette has every color I would possibly need for whenever I actually feel like putting eyeshadow on (which is not very often). From what I have swatched at Sephora, these eysehadows feel very soft to the touch. Also the packaging is very sleek and compact, perfect for traveling!

Now this is something I am not a 100% sure I need. I have very oily eyelids and very dry under-eyes so I have a huge dilemma when it comes to concealer. Sometimes my concealer cracks/creases and it highlights my super dry skin. This product is supposed to fill in any lines and leave a nice smooth surface for your concealer. I hope to try this soon and I'll keep you posted!

If you have tried any of these products, let me know what you think of them in the comments!

Have a lovely weekend!

Sparkle, Sparkle, Shine

All things that sparkle catch the attention of all who love fine things.  So let's bring the attention to the eyes.  I adore these makeup looks and wish that I could learn how to pull them off.  However, glittery eyes are not exactly appropriate for everyday wear.  For now we will simply enjoy these looks, and maybe become inspired to try a sparkly eye look at our next party.

Audrey makes the glittery eyelids look like a classic!

Let's just dump the glitter all over our eyelids, it will be a party!

If only our under eyes were glitter rather than dark circles, it would be a dream!

More wearable? Yes or No? YES!

What is your favorite look? And remember...

Super Simple Green Brunch

Avocado Sandwich and coffee

One of my favorite things to eat for breakfast is simple and increadibly easy to make.

I start by toasting two pieces of sandwich bread.  Then I cut half of an avocado and chop it into tiny pieces.  I chop, chop, chop, and chop so that the avocado will be easy to spread onto the toast.

After I spread the avocado onto the toast I simply add a dash of ground pepper and salt.  And then it is done, can you believe it?  It can be made more tasteful with other ingredients such as cheese and eggs which are my favorite. However, sometimes I am lazy and feel increadibly satisfied with just two slices of bread and some avocado.  I love avocado, this is why I enjoy this simple sandwich.  This meal is filling and quick, just what I need on a busy morning, or when I am running late.

On this particular morning I decided that iced coffee would nicely compliment my sandwich (more like: I just needed something to wake me up and get me going).

As for creamer, every morning I use these individual delight hazelnut or french vanilla creamers.  They give my coffee a great taste and depending on my mood I may add as little as one or as  much as three creamers into each cup of coffee.

Finally I sit and enjoy this quick meal (usually while I sit in front of my tv).

Sniff Sniff Hooray: My Favorite Scents

I would like to start out by saying that I freaking love perfume. I love the pretty bottles and using them as decor. Scents change who you are and they give a lasting impression on people. So today, I’d like to share with you my favorite scents.

Let’s start with my newest favorite, Chloé Eau de Parfum Spray

Isn’t the packaging just adorable? Gah, I’m obsessed! Anyway, I stalked this perfume at Sephora, Macy’s, and wherever I could find it for months. I really don’t know why it took me so long, but the deciding factor was its amazing staying power. I once sprayed this perfume on my scarf, and I kid you not, it stayed on my scarf the entire winter. This scent is very flowery but not overpowering, its feminine and sophisticated. I find that the scent gets better the longer it is on you. It is the perfect scent for spring, summer, and every season.

My next favorite is Versace Bright Crystal

I am obsessed with how this smells. It is subtle and fresh, I use this as my daily perfume and never get tired of it. It has fruity, flowery, and musky tones to it so I think it appeals to many women's taste. I would also like to mention I got my bottle for free at Sephora, who doesn't love free things?

Let's move on to a classic, Chancel Chance Eau Tendre

This has been a favorite of mine for years. My mom has the regular Chanel Chance and I always loved it, but I found that it was too womanly for me. So I got the next best thing, a lighter version of the classic. The staying power on this is amazing, all you need is one quick spritz and your set for the rest of the day. I think this may be my signature scent...for now. ;)

What is your favorite scent? Leave a comment with your answer below! I would love to check out your suggestions!

10 Things Diana Loves

Some of my favorite things in no particular order.

1. Strawberries.  I love the bright color of strawberries!  I think they are so simple and delicious on their own.  I often eat these right after I workout.  They can brighten up a cup of water and add a light flavor.  They are also my go-to ingredient for smoothies.

2. Rainy Days.  I always find it extremely difficult to get out of bed on rainy days.  I feel that cuddling up in a bed or on a couch is a rule for rainy days.  I love the sound of raindropps hitting my roof or windows because it makes me feel relaxed.  I also especially like watching movies on rainy days because the cloudiness of outside makes the lighting in my house darker and perfect to watch movies.

3.  Bagels.  They are filling and easy to have for breakfast.  With so many flavors to choose and all the different spreads that complement bagels, I find it hard to ever get bored of bagels.  *I have a secret dream of one day opening up my own bagel and coffee shop.

4. Coffee/Coffee Houses.  Coffee not only goes well with bagels, but I also find it relaxing and motivating.  The taste of coffee is simply wonderful to my tastebuds.  When I drink coffee I find that I am motivated to get stuff done.  I also love coffee houses and find that the ambiance is enjoyable and peaceful.

5.  Unmade/somewhat made beds.  Unmade beds seam so comfortable and they remind me of life and movement.  It is nice to know that it may not be a perfectly made bed but at least someone is using it.

6. This quote.  I find it to be motivating as well as a reminder that life is never easy, yet in the end we will all come out as stronger humans.  I hope in the end we will all be skilled sailors. Let the waves of life make us stronger!

7. Movies.  I am obssesed with movies.  Movies are meant to be watched with open minds.  You should hopefully always learn something, whether it be about the world, about yourself, or it should motivate you to go learn more.  *I have many favorite movies, but Midnight in Paris holds a special place in my heart.

8. Minimalism Fashion.  I enjoy simplicity and the statement that a few basics can make.

9.  Pink Peonies.  I don't love flowers, however peonies have a way of brightening up a room and simply making me happy.

10.  New York Yankees/Baseball.  America's Pastime puts a huge smile on my face every time.  I love watching it and the whole idea of it.  I can only say, "It's hard not to be romantic about baseball"-Moneyball.

 * None of these pictures are mine and do not take any credit for them.  I found them all on Pinterest, feel free to follow me: http://www.pinterest.com/dianalb21/
